"The Red Witch" wood and iron wall sign By Steel Goddess

Imagine a very magickal place where the whole town is populated by Witches!   Centuries old, this town lies in a separate dimension ~ free from human fear and persecution.  This town is lovingly referred as WitchWood.  Travel one mile past the Cobblestone Cottage Community,  you will come across the heart of this lively town.  As you wander through the Market, every shop you pass hosts a diverse mix of Witchy goodies.  Tree lined streets filled with beautiful display signs ~ from Broom Repair Shops to a Culinary Herb Shop, from the Witches Brew Café to the Magick Hat Lair.

I am excited to introduce a series of Witch Signs that one may find displayed in such a Witches Town!!

This sign was designed for a tavern where Spells and Spirits are always flowing at THE RED WITCH.  Established in 1692, this tavern is most famous for “The Flaming Catholic Martini!”  This tasty and potent concoction was created by the proprietor, Evelyn Cleverwort ~ the very Witch sitting pretty on the martini!  With its conception, she was reported as mumbling something about “It’s OUR turn to light the match!” as she cackled wildly, toasting the moon.  No one has ever found out what secret ingredient she uses that makes this drink so bloody tasty.  When asked about the secret ingredient, she always responds snickering, “My child...the name explains it all…”  The fun doesn’t stop there!  Every Wednesday night, there is a broom race for Witches to compete against one another.  Last weeks winner was Miss. Frostwind, who after crossing the finish line performed a daring loop to loop while sipping a Flaming Catholic ~ all without spilling a drop!

The tavern sign has been designed to appear slightly tattered at the edges.  On the left side of this sign, a copy of my hand painted Witch sits very pretty on top of a “Flaming Catholic Martini” ~ complete with a pointy hat, risqué lingerie, and striped panty hose.  On the other side, a copy of my hand painted Full Moon sets the background for Broom Races.  This tavern sign truly looks as if it could have very easily came from this lively Witches town called WitchWood!

The wall plaque measures (at its furthest points) 10 inches wide and 5 inches tall.  A very pretty iron ornament adorns the top of this plaque.  The illustration is a copy of my Witchy art on premium grade paper which has been decoupaged on the front side of the plaque.  The illustration is protected by 4 layers of clear decoupage glue and have been sealed with 4 clear coats of Acrylic Sealer Matte.

"Welcome to Witchwood" wood and iron wall sign

By Steel Goddess

This sign was designed as a billboard to welcome visitors and fellow patrons to this most magickal town called Witchwood.    A beautiful Witch sits perched on top of a pumpkin with a hearty expression to make anyone feel at ease and welcome.  Her golden braided locks frame her smile which cannot be contained by her lips but spreads in sunbeams across her cheeks. Her blue eyes glimmer with excitement and intensity for the festivities that occur here each night.  As you well know from my other witchy signs, Witchwood is home for “The Red Witch” tavern ~ famed for its “Flaming Catholic Martini” and broom races.  Witchwood is also famous for Miss. Neckerwort’s “Herbal Dragon Tea Society,” exclusive for only a select few and famed for their ability to summon the spirit of the most ancient of dragons.  The beautiful town is lined with gorgeous cobblestone shops illuminated by the majestic Full Moon of the night sky.  If you are lucky enough to be invited or stumble across this beautiful town, an old stone bridge will lead you into the heart of Witchwood.  Tavern signs line the streets with lush and fragrant foliage streaming throughout the shops.  You are just in time for the entire town of Witchwood has begun their festivities for the evening with the traditional lit candles flickering in the windows to guide flying Witches and other magickal creatures to their homes!

The Witch is in Broom Hanger

By Steel Goddess

The copy of this hand painted illustration features a wise and friendly Witch in the midst of enjoying her cup of tea. Her warm smile and grandmotherly charm would make any visitor feel warm and keep those nasty spirits away! A majestic Full Moon peeks out from clouds to give a nice illuminating frame to this jolly Witch!

This is a creative and unique way to display your besom!   This is ideal for hanging over the doorframe of the main entrance of your home to ward off negative influences and intrusion of harmful intentions.  It is also a neat way to hang your fragranced broom and fill your space with the aroma of warm cinnamon or any type of purifying scent.

The oval wall plaque measures (at its furthest points) roughly 5 inches tall and 10 inches wide.  It is constructed from oak wood.  Two rod iron hooks on the far left and right side hang down 3 inches before they “hook up.”  The center hook hangs down 2 ½ inches before it “hooks up.” The entire plaque has been painted black.  The illustration is a copy of my Witchy art on premium grade paper which has been decoupaged on the front side of the plaque.  The illustration is protected by 4 layers of clear decoupage glue and have been sealed with 4 clear coats of Acrylic Sealer Matte.  There is 2 wall fasteners on the back of the plaque for easy hanging.
