our
favorite Pagan CDs, enjoy!

Legends
of the Goddess 1
Laura
Powers
Step into a world that is steeped in the imagery of another era. Reach
through the portal of time with a mystical experience at Stonehenge
(Circle of Stone), fly on the raven's wing as Morrighan prepares to meet
her destiny (Morrighan's Quest) and journey to the quiet place "in-between
my thoughts and my dreams" (My Avalon) that so many of us seek. There is
something at work here beyond the usual scope of imagery and songs.

Beyond the Pale- Legends of the Goddess 2
Laura Powers
The musical journey
continues enfolding the listener in a place that is both ancient and new.
Circle and soar over the moors with the "Sisters of the Wind", experience
nature's wisdom (Answer Me With Silence) and smell the jasmine wind as the
goddess of the sea guides you through unknown waters (Goddess of the Sea
Mist). Enhanced by Celtic instrumentation such as uilleann pipes, tin
whistle and Irish flute the music radiates a haunting beauty that captures
the heart and soothes the spirit.

BENDING TRADITION (CD)
Emerald Rose
Saint Patrick's Day 1997 saw the first official performance of Atlanta's
Emerald Rose, a natural outgrowth of four friends' love of music and
interest in the traditions of their ancestors. The band has been assisted
and encouraged along the way by a supportive community who share the
band's desire to help keep the Celtic musical heritage alive and carry it
on into the future. Great Celtic flavor with Wiccan references. A very
upbeat CD, The song “Pagan Girl” is my favorite!

This recording has been around as long as I can remember and there is a
reason for its staying power- it is simply one of the best Wiccan CDs of
all time! Gypsy weaves magick and mystery into her ballads. Her lush

Gaia Consort celebrates the living Earth. Their debut CD takes Pagan music
out of the Ren Faire genre and celebrates the cycles of the Earth in a
contemporary context. Lots of interplay between cello and violin
underscores imagery taken from Goddess ritual and the cycles of nature.
Gaia Consort mixes rock, jazz and acoustic music into a seriously upbeat
and listenable combination.

SONGS OF THE CIRCLE
(CD)
Wolfsong, Leah
These songs of empowerment, sing along rounds and tribally inspired chants
feature intricate vocal harmonies and a unique variety of drums and world
percussion instruments. I have begun each song simply, giving you the
opportunity to hear the basic melody clearly before I begin crafting
harmonies and extra parts. May these simple and direct affirmations of
peace, wellness and strength support you on your journey and inspire you
to sing your song. -Leah Wolfsong.

The Dragon (CD)
Elvendrums
With tight, danceable
drum sounds and a Middle-Eastern flavor to their melodies, Elvendrums
sings of a time when everything, especially magic, was possible. Theirs is
music of hope and possibility, innocent and infectious. Sure to be playing
at a festival near you!

Bhakti (CD)
Suzanne Sterling
For the past five
years, Suzanne has been creating and developing her own blend of
devotional music-- mixing Middle Eastern and Indian influences with a very
strong Celtic background and sensibility. She is now pleased to announce
Bhakti, her first solo CD. Suzanne is well known as a wonderful vocalist
from her work in Skyclad. In Bhakti she also plays hand percussion,
harmonium, and more. This is a deeply devotional album, and it is included
in this category because it is also eminently danceable. Highly
recommended!
$15.99

Dancers of Twilight
(CD)
Zingaia
Pulsing global
rhythms, sensual female vocals and smooth trance/dance grooves create a
mystical mood. Building on the seductive energy of their debut release,
Zingaia blends new age, world beat, pop and Pagan imagery with finesse and
originality. Musically, Zingaia feature lots of percussion blended with
synthesizer-based instrumentation and female vocals by Abbi Spinner of
Spinner and Magnus. Jeff McBride also makes a guest appearance. If you're
looking for something great to dance to, look no farther.
$15.99

Soles on Earth
Zingaia
An adventurous
mosaic of multi-cultural rhythms, tribal influences and contemporary
electronic elements, SOLES ON EARTH proves that worldbeat duo Zingaia
(Michael and Katlyn Breene) is still as inspired as ever. This powerful
album of trance-dance grooves darts all over the globe, incorporating
sounds from Africa, India, the Middle East and plenty of other exotic
locales into a swirling synthesis of cultural colors and driving beats.
Included are percussive textures, flutes, vocal samples, nature/jungle
sounds and ethnic instruments wrapped in a blanket of synthesizer ambience
and keyboard effects. The title SOLES OF EARTH appears to be an allusion
to dancing, an activity that this album is very well suited for.

Under a Violet Moon
(CD)
Blackmore's Night
This popular album
features guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, formerly of Deep Purple and Rainbow,
along with vocalist Candice Night. "Under a Violet Moon" is propelled by
darkly rich acoustic guitar lines, urgent vocals, rolling rhythms and
swirling melodies. This is an up-tempo album, lush yet with a metal, hard
rock edge. Countless guest musicians contributed to this album, and fans
of Deep Purple will feel right at home with the very Pagan content of
these 16 songs.
$16.99

Unleashed (CD)
Seven 13
Seven 13 (formerly
Coven 13) are one of the most promising Pagan rock bands to come
along in a while. With gritty male vocals by Kenneth Michael, energetic
lead guitar by Justin Ballard, and solid players on bass, drums, and
keyboards, the band has a dynamic sound and a nice groove together. All
tunes are originals penned by Amanda Adams, the keyboard player. Real nice
stuff, some harder sounds, with a couple ballads thrown in to demonstrate
their expressive range.
$17.99

Book of Shadows (CD)
Coven 13 (Seven 13)
Coven 13 was the
precursor to Seven 13, and while the sound of this earlier incarnation is
not as full as Seven 13, they have an appeal all their own. Great male
vocals, everything from lyrical ballads to hard-driving rock and roll. A
bit more of a synth sound than in Unleashed, which gives it an ethereal
flavor sometimes. This is a tight band, with solid material and a very
balanced sound. Recommended.
$15.99

Fire Prayer (CD)

for personal and group listening. Take flight with Denean’s haunting
lyrics. Ideal for women’s circles, easy listening, or healing work.
Denean’s catalog has sold over 100,000 units worldwide and she had
attained Gold record status with this album in Hong Kong.

lyrics that have made them so popular on both sides of the Atlantic.

Notes of Being (CD)
Spiral Dance
In celebration of the
band's 10th anniversary, Spiral Dance has come out with their best CD yet,
this year's Notes of Being. There is a maturity of sound on this album,
which attests to the magic that happens after ten years of playing
together. The songs are melodic, well arranged, and consistent with their
familiar themes of mythic, legendary, and Pagan subjects. With an Inkubus
Sukkubus cover thrown in (The Rape of Maude Bowen), Spiral Dance proves
that they can rock out, and are not limited to the folk-rock of most of
their songs. Highly recommended!
$16.99
Magick (CD)

band from Adelaide, we have their third full-length CD. Their production
quality has only gotten better (and it was pretty darn good to begin
with), as has their songwriting and arranging skills. $16.99
