This is a deck that is a gift to women it was created to celebrate the
consciousness of woman and Goddess centered spirituality by Ffiona Morgan.
It is full of strength that the moon gives to us. It is the Triple Goddess,
maiden, mother and crone. Originally it was called the Matriarchal Tarot when
first conceived in 1976.
Artist Fiona Morgan sees the Daughters of the Moon Tarot as a record of
woman lore and knowledge. She does not little the role of the male, but
focuses on womanhood. These round cards bring the idea of cycles, with
positive and negative to the Tarot.
The deck is divided into the Major Arcana and those of the suites. The
traditional male cards have been changed to the feminine. Such as the Magician
has become the Witch. Also there are two new Major cards. Pan and Coyotewoman,
the Trickster. There are two Lovers cards, one is female only and the other
shows a man and a woman, you should use one or the other not at the both at
the same time. The Minor Arcana are Flames, Cups, Blades and Pentacles. The
Court cards are reduced to three in each suit: the Maiden, Mother and Crone,
three archetypes of the Goddess.
The Daughters of the Moon Tarot is feminine orientated all races, ages and
body shapes are represented, the art work is colorful and vibrant emphasizing
on the beauty of women. All their forms and actions with the presence of the
Goddess through her many names.
There is a separate companion book for this deck which is called Daughters
of the Moon Tarot. This deck is a challenge for the experienced Tarot reader.
A collectors item in its own. Those who enjoy the Goddess myths, will enjoy
using this deck, They are shaped in the roundness of the full moon.
