The Tarot of Prague is by Karen Mahony and Alex Ukolov, Book is by Karen Mahony- Original Printing.
When I looked through this deck I notice that is had city themes and sculptures, a collage of architecture from designated cities. It is based on the RWS deck and anyone who uses the RWS will be able to use this deck right away.
It is a magical city of Art Deco, and Nouveau, and Enlightenment. A place also of gothic enchantment, and phantoms. There is nowhere quite like the capital of Bohemia!
It is a hodgepodge of pictures, with thousands of original photographs of fabulous art and architecture of Prague. With also occasional images from a Bohemian playing card deck.
The 78 card creation with art work that go together cohesively is one for the collection of a collector.
The court cards are equal to the Major Arcana cards. The companion book, mentions and discusses the interpretation. The majority of the book consists of the card interpretations it has also a section on Prague, A Magical City. There is a bibliography and index section also.
The original box I found out had images from the two of Cups which is now superseded by the Moon card in the new edition. Also the little white booklet that was pasted into the binding of the original is like the new one is not attached to the box. And the card backs have the same design but different in color, they are now blue instead of the tan.
The new version of the deck is different on the inside as well as the outside. The big differences are the minors. The 2004 edition cards are a bit larger than the original.
Whether you are a tarot novice or an expert, it is a deck to have. Collectors may want both of the editions because of the difference in cards.
