Enchanted Wedding
The ancient Druids celebrated the union of the Moon Goddess and the Sun God,
and also the crowning of the May Queen and King. If you want to hold a truly
enchanted wedding, then why not incorporate some of the ancient marriage
rites into your ceremony to bring luck and everlasting love?
The best location would be in a pretty garden or park and the most fortunate
time is during a new or waxing moon.
Gather your friends and family around you in a tree-filled park or a
garden.Create a heavenly fragrant scene by decorating with garlands of
perfumed flowers, like jasmine, lily of the valley, or honeysuckle. The
bride and groom should wear white and both carry sheaves of wheat and
rosemary to represent fertility and prosperity. After speaking your vows,
place a wooden stick on the ground. As you both step over it, say these
words:
'By mystical moon and life-giving sun, we handfast our love in blessed union
as one.'
